Gold Coast City resides along the southern coast of Queensland and features over 70 km of pristine coastline, which stretches from Stradbroke Island in the north, to Rainbow Bay in the south.

The Gold Coast region which is Queensland’s most southern city covers 1,402 square kilometers, ranging from some of the most romantic and spectacular tropical rainforest to the Gold Coast Seaway providing access to over 270 km of navigable waterways and family beaches where you can do nothing else but relax and enjoy the sunshine.

And what about the glorious weather we have on the Gold Coast. In short “ plenty of sunshine ” in fact an average of 300 days a year, starting with the summer temperatures which range from 19 to 29 degrees Celsius (66 to 83 degrees Fahrenheit) dropping only slightly in winter to 9 to 21 degrees Celsius (48 to 69 degrees Fahrenheit) so it’s no wonder why the Gold Coast attracts holiday makers from all over the world all year round, where else would you want to be!

Just for those of you who wanted to know as at 30 June 2006, the population for Gold Coast City was estimated to be 466,651 persons. The population is expected to increase to 633,972 residents in the year 2021 (Projections based on 2001 Statistical Local Area Boundaries which include the Wolffdene-Bahrs Scrub area).

This is one of the reasons why the Gold Coast is bursting at the seams with attractions and features starting with the Q1 building, the world's tallest residential tower is 322.5 metres above street level with an observation deck on the 78th floor, 70km of perfect beaches, a beautiful stretch of broadwater and canals, which is just delightful on almost any given day to relax and enjoy a boat ride , the spectacular Hinterland, and if your feeling a bit peckish, you can choose to dine at one of more than 500 restaurants and cafes that offer cuisines from all around the world, out for the night then choose from nightclubs, restaurants, clubs, and Conrad Jupiters Casino to Broadway musicals, ballet and theatre and of course there are the theme parks consisting of Warner Bros/Movie World, Sea World, DreamWorld, Wet‘n’Wild, not to forget the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for something a little different.

The Gold Coast City hosts many national and international events including the Pan Pacific Masters Games, Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, Lexmark Indy 300, Gold Coast Marathon along with the famous Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Horse Racing Carnival.
